Poniatowa, powiat opolski (lubelski), woj. lubelskie
In Poniatowa the Germans established a labour camp for Jews. On 4 November 1943, as part of the "Erntefest" (Harvest Festival) operation, around 14,000-15,000 prisoners were shot here. On the same day about 10,000 prisoners were murdered in the camp in Trawniki. The site is commemorated by monuments to the victims.
