Cemetery of the prisoners of Stalag I B near Sudwa

Near Sudwa, close to Olsztynek, there is a cemetery where the deceased prisoners of the German Stalag I B Hohenstein camp were buried. It is estimated that around 55,000 people died in the camp, mostly Soviet prisoners of war. The site is commemorated by a monument from 1963 (designed by Ryszard Wachowski) depicting a prisoner attempting to escape through barbed wire.
