The museum is housed in the Gothic Castle of the Warmian Chapter, associated with the figure of Nicolaus Copernicus.

History

The Castle of the Warmian Chapter was built in the 14th century. From 1516 to 1521, Nicolaus Copernicus, who defended it during the Polish-Teutonic War, served as administrator of the chapter's estates and resided in the castle.
