The museum is housed in the Renaissance Castle of the Silesian Piasts, called the 'Silesian Wawel'.
The castle is located at 1 Zamkowy Square in Brzeg, in the Opole Voivodeship.
The castle was the residence of the Dukes of Brzeg from the Silesian Piast dynasty. In the 16th century it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style; it is famous for its richly decorated gateway with a gallery of busts of the Piasts.
