Prof. Stanisław Fischer Museum in Bochnia

A museum founded in 1959 by Stanisław Fischer (1879-1967), a teacher, researcher of Bochnia's past and outstanding collector. It is housed in a two-wing late Baroque building of a former Dominican monastery - one of the most valuable monuments of Bochnia.

Collections

The collection comprises over twenty thousand objects in five departments: artistic, historical, archaeological, ethnographic and natural. The permanent exhibition includes old folk sculpture and painting, the customs of Bochnia, non-European cultures (Africa, South America, Asia), archaeology and the history of the town with particular emphasis on the salt mine.
