The museum in Kalisz - one of the oldest cities in Poland (mentioned by Ptolemy as Calisia). It documents the centuries-old history of the city and the Kalisz region.
The museum holds archaeological collections (including traces of settlement along the Amber Road), as well as historical, ethnographic and artistic collections. It presents the history of Kalisz from antiquity, the crafts and art of the region. It has a branch - an archaeological reserve at Zawodzie.
