The museum is a cultural institution comprising the main seat in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski and its famous branch - the Archaeological Museum and Reserve "Krzemionki". The main seat is located in the Wielopolski palace and park complex.
The museum gathers archaeological, historical and artistic collections related to the Ostrowiec region and the history of prehistoric flint mining. It presents, among others, a glass collection and the history of the region's metallurgy.
