District Museum in Nysa

The oldest museum institution in the Opole region, founded in 1897 on the initiative of the Society of Art and Antiquities in Nysa. Since 1984 it has been housed in the Baroque Bishop's Palace - a representative residence of the Wrocław bishops erected at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Collections

The museum has collections in the fields of archaeology and artistic craftsmanship. The most valuable is the gallery of European painting from the 15th to the 19th century, as well as artistic craftsmanship: furniture, pewter ware, glass, porcelain, faience, blacksmithing and militaria.
