A Baroque residence known as the "Versailles of Podlasie", located in the centre of Białystok and surrounded by Baroque gardens. Address: ul. Jana Kilińskiego 1. Currently the seat of the Medical University.
In the 16th century Piotr Wiesiołowski erected a Gothic-Renaissance castle here (designed by Hiob Bretfus). Between 1691 and 1697 Stefan Mikołaj Branicki rebuilt it into a Baroque residence (designed by Tylman van Gameren). Between 1728 and 1771 Jan Zygmunt Deybel, and subsequently Jakub Fontana, gave the palace its final Late Baroque form with Rococo interiors. In 1944 about 70% of the building was destroyed; it was rebuilt between 1946 and 1960.
