The Firlej residence in Czemierniki is a palace of the fortified type, erected by order of Henryk Firlej, Bishop of Płock, in the years 1617-1624. The building was raised on an elevated foundation and was originally crowned with an attic and a loggia.
The palace rises above ponds, surrounded by fortifications with four bastions. The layout draws on Renaissance architectural principles. Czemierniki is a former town belonging to the powerful Firlej family.
