Ruins of the Pac Palace in Dowspuda

The ruins of the Pac Palace lie in the picturesque valley of the Rospuda River in Dowspuda, about 26 km from Augustów. The palace was an exceptional example of neo-Gothic architecture in Poland, erected between 1820 and 1823 to a design by the Italian architect Piotr Bosio, commissioned by Ludwik Michał Pac.

Current state

Picturesque ruins have survived to this day and are accessible free of charge all year round - the remains of the palace walls, cellars, arcades and corner turrets. The well-known saying "wart Pac pałaca" (Pac is worth a palace) is connected with this place.
