Świerklaniec was the residence of the magnate family Henckel von Donnersmarck. Of the former, magnificent "Silesian Versailles", the neo-Rococo Cavalier's Palace (Kavaliershaus) from the end of the 19th century has survived, along with an extensive landscape park.
The park in Świerklaniec is among the most beautiful park layouts of Upper Silesia, with the Donnersmarck mausoleum and numerous historic structures. The park is open to all.
