Brühl Palace in Brody

The first palace in Brody was built for the Promnitz family between 1670 and 1674. Between 1741 and 1753 Johann Christoph Knöffel created a Baroque residential complex for minister Heinrich Brühl. The ensemble represents a high artistic standard of Saxon Baroque.

Present state

The 18th-century urban layout comprises the palace, annexes, a church, the Zasieki Gate and several dozen houses. Two restored annexes house a hotel and a restaurant, while the palace itself remains a preserved ruin. The site is open to tourists.
