History

The first mention comes from the document Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis of 1305 (Castrum Strelecense). The masonry castle was built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries on the site of a wooden structure. At the beginning of the 14th century the town became the capital of an independent duchy. The ruin was rebuilt between 1562 and 1596. The castle was burned down in 1945 by Soviet troops.
