A hill above the high bank of the Bug in Drohiczyn - the former site of a stronghold and castle, today a viewpoint.
The stronghold on the steep bank of the Bug is associated with the conquest of the lands along the Bug by Yaroslav the Wise in the 11th century; the first mentions appear in Ruthenian chronicles from 1038, 1061 and 1148. The castle suffered greatly during the Swedish Deluge and was never rebuilt; the last stone tower was dismantled in 1788. Today Castle Hill occupies a much smaller area than in the Middle Ages.
