Market Square in Nowy Sącz

The Market Square in Nowy Sącz is the central square of the town and one of the largest market squares in Lesser Poland. Its area is nearly 20,000 m² (approximately 160 by 120 metres). The location of the square was determined in the town's foundation charter of 1292.

Town Hall

At the centre of the square stands an impressive town hall, the seat of the town's local government authorities. The present building was erected between 1895 and 1897, after a great fire, in an eclectic style with decoration referring to neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque, with a clock tower.
