Wieluń is one of the few towns in the Łódź Voivodeship in which the medieval street layout has survived in such a legible way despite the destruction of the last war. A market square with two parallel frontages was laid out within the fortifications.
The town takes pride in its preserved medieval street layout and the surrounding fragments of the town walls. The urban layout of Wieluń is entered in the register of monuments.
The square is publicly accessible all year round.
