The Great Market Square in Szydłowiec is a typical medieval market square with a rectangular layout, with characteristic little streets emerging from the corners. At its centre stands a Late Renaissance town hall.
The town hall was erected between 1602 and 1629 in the Late Renaissance style. Its high attic, tower with a clock and Renaissance cupola, and corner turrets topped with domes make it one of the most magnificent and valuable monuments of burgher architecture in Poland.
The square is open to the public all year round. The town hall is the seat of the city authorities.
The market square is in the centre of Szydłowiec.
