Old Market Square in Płock

The Old Market Square in Płock is a historic square in the heart of the Old Town, one of the oldest urban centres in Mazovia. For a time, Płock was the capital of Poland (in the 11th century the residence of Władysław Herman and Bolesław the Wrymouth).

Town Hall

On the market square stands a Classicist town hall erected between 1824 and 1827 to a design by Jakub Kubicki. In 1831, the Sejm of the Kingdom of Poland convened within its walls.
