Market Square in Bolesławiec

The Market Square in Bolesławiec is the historic Old Town square of a city famous for its pottery. The central feature of the square is the town hall with a rich architectural history.

Town Hall

The first, wooden town hall was probably built on the square in the second quarter of the 14th century, and in 1432 a stone building was erected. It was thoroughly rebuilt in the Renaissance style between 1525 and 1535, and after a fire in 1642 it underwent another reconstruction; between 1776 and 1781 it was given Baroque features.
