The Wolf's Lair is located in Gierłoż near Kętrzyn, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, amid forests.
It was the largest and most famous field command headquarters of Adolf Hitler, used between 1941 and 1945. It was here that operations such as Barbarossa were coordinated, and in 1944 the assassination attempt on Hitler took place (Operation Valkyrie).
The remains of massive reinforced concrete bunkers and shelters scattered throughout the forest complex. Forest trails, an audio guide/app are available.
