Dęblin Fortress (Ivangorod Fortress)

A complex of fortification structures erected by Russia in the 19th century at the confluence of the Wieprz and Vistula rivers. Construction began in 1832 after the November Uprising, designed by Gen. Ivan Dehn. A pentagonal citadel was built, and at the turn of the 1870s and 1880s the fortress was expanded into a fort fortress with a system of 7 earth-and-brick forts.

Museum

The museum is housed in the Alexander Gate in the eastern part of the citadel and presents the history of the construction and operation of the fortress, the fighting of 1914-1915 and the Stalag 307 prisoner-of-war camp.
