One of the oldest artillery forts of the Kraków Fortress, located on Lasota Hill (Krzemionki). A unique example of mid-19th-century fortification - the only surviving one of three brick structures of the former Kraków Fortress's southern bridgehead and the last tower fort (Maximilian tower) in Poland, built in 1853-1861.
The interior is made available only during periodic guided tours organised by organisations promoting the heritage of the Kraków Fortress and by the municipal administrator.
The interior is accessible only during periodic tours organised by entities promoting the Kraków Fortress (e.g. ZBK). The exterior is accessible all year round.
