History

Between 1928 and 1939 a listening post of Polish counterintelligence operated here, and the intercepted ciphers contributed to breaking the German Enigma. Between 1939 and 1941 the Germans carried out the execution of 440 Poles here; a grave and a monument are located within the fort.
