A unique baroque fortification erected in 1747-1749 on the initiative of the Prussian king Frederick II the Great; the fortress reconstruction plan was designed by Gerhard Cornelius de Wallrave. Part of the extensive Głogów Fortress.
The most important elements accessible to visitors, located in Piast Park, are a fragment of the moat, a caponier, posterns and readiness shelters. Renovation of a section of the moat surrounding the fort is underway.
