The castle rises on a hill near the Old Town in Lublin, at ul. Zamkowa 9. Today it houses the National Museum in Lublin.
The oldest part of the complex is the Romanesque tower (donjon). Within the castle a Gothic Chapel of the Holy Trinity has been preserved, with precious Ruthenian-Byzantine paintings. In the 19th century a Neo-Gothic building was erected on the site of the former castle, serving for years as a prison. Today the site is the seat of the National Museum in Lublin.
