The monumental ruins of the castle are located in Ujazd (Opatów county) in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. It is one of the largest and most impressive residential castles of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
The castle was built in the 17th century as a palace residence of the palazzo in fortezza type for the Ossoliński family. The building was famous for its rich symbolic programme (including references to the calendar). Destroyed during the wars of the 17th and 18th centuries, it fell into ruin, yet remains one of the most impressive relics of residential architecture in Poland.

The site is in Ujazd; a large, free car park for cars and coaches right in front of the entrance to the ruins.
