The castle rises on Castle Hill above the Czarna Przemsza River in Będzin (Silesian Voivodeship), at ul. Zamkowa 1.
The masonry castle was built in the Middle Ages as part of the state border's defensive system, linked among others to the foundations of Casimir the Great. It served defensive functions, guarding the western border of the Kingdom of Poland. Today it is open to visitors as a branch of the Zagłębie Museum in Będzin.
