The Gothic castle is located in Reszel (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), at ul. Podzamcze 3, in the historic town centre in Warmia.
The castle was erected in the Middle Ages as a stronghold of the bishops of Warmia. It served administrative and defensive functions within the Warmian dominion. The preserved castle structure with its tower is among the valuable examples of Gothic defensive architecture in the region. Today it houses, among other things, an art gallery and hotel and dining facilities.

Open all year; ticket office in season (1 Jun-30 Sep) daily 9:00-20:00; in the period 1 Nov-28 Feb visits 9:00-19:00 (last entry 18:30). Current prices and hours should be confirmed on the site's website.
