Location and surroundings

The castle is located in Szczecin at Pl. św. Piotra i Pawła 4/5, on a hill above the Oder, in the heart of the city (West Pomeranian Voivodeship).

History

The castle was the residence of the Griffin dynasty - the Pomeranian dukes. Built and expanded from the Middle Ages onwards, it was transformed into a stately residence during the Renaissance. After the destruction of World War II it was rebuilt. Today it is a cultural institution of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Permanent exhibitions in the North Wing, the Bell Tower with a viewpoint, and the stately courtyards (free admission).
