The castle is located in Łagów (Lubusz Voivodeship), at ul. Kościuszki 3, on the isthmus between Lake Łagowskie and Lake Trześniowskie, in the heart of the Łagów Landscape Park.
The castle was built in the Middle Ages as the seat of the Knights Hospitaller (Knights of Malta), who had a commandry here. For centuries it served the defensive and administrative functions of the order. A distinctive feature is the tall tower. Today the building operates as a hotel with a restaurant.
