The castle ruins are located in Czersk (Góra Kalwaria municipality, Piaseczno County, Masovian Voivodeship), about 45 km from the centre of Warsaw, overlooking the Vistula valley.
Czersk was one of the main centres of the Dukes of Masovia. This brick Gothic castle was built here in the Middle Ages as a seat of ducal power and part of the defensive system. After the capital of Masovia was moved to Warsaw, the importance of Czersk declined and the castle gradually fell into ruin.
The preserved towers and defensive walls, gates and courtyard; the towers offer views of the surrounding area.

The site is in Czersk, about 45 km from Warsaw (via Góra Kalwaria); accessible by car.
