The castle is located in Gołuchów (Pleszew County, Greater Poland Voivodeship), on the Trzemna River, surrounded by an extensive park, about 16 km from Kalisz.
The castle has Renaissance origins. In the 19th century, on the initiative of Izabela Działyńska née Czartoryska, it was rebuilt in the French Renaissance style (inspired by the châteaux of the Loire) and intended to house valuable art collections. Today it is a branch of the National Museum in Poznań.
Renaissance interiors with works of art, the arcaded courtyard and the surrounding park; nearby are the mausoleum of Izabela Działyńska and a demonstration European bison enclosure.
