The former seat of the Wrocław bishops in Otmuchów (Opole Province). The castle was built in the 13th century on the site of a wooden stronghold and later rebuilt (among others by Bishop Roth in 1484).
At present the castle chambers are not widely accessible. Tourists can climb the castle tower and admire the panorama of Otmuchów with its town hall and basilica, as well as the nearby Otmuchów Lake. Characteristic, exceptionally wide and low steps lead to the interior.
The site is open to visitors (mainly the viewing tower). Current hours are available on the website of the Zamek Cultural Centre in Otmuchów.
