Historic castle ruins in the village of Rabsztyn (Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Olkusz County), on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. The name comes from the German Rabenstein - raven's rock.
In the second half of the 13th century, a castle was built atop the rock. The Gothic stronghold grew into a complex comprising an upper, middle and lower castle, along with Renaissance palaces from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries.
From the top of the viewing tower unfolds a panorama of the Olkusz area. Knights' tournaments are held on the castle grounds. Nearby stands the family home of Antoni Kocjan, a glider designer.
Guides on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 (from March to October). Tickets: Tue-Fri regular PLN 12, reduced PLN 8; weekends regular PLN 15, reduced PLN 10.
In Olkusz, turn off national road no. 94 onto Rabsztyńska Street; after about 5 km the castle is visible on the hill.
