The brine pools are located in the Natural Treatment Centre at the Rownica Sanatorium in Ustron. The facility offers four pools filled with brine water at a temperature of approx. 30 degrees C.
The Ustron iodine-bromine-chloride brine is extracted from two boreholes at a depth of approx. 1700 m (source concentration approx. 12.5 percent, diluted for use to approx. 3-4 percent). The healing components are mainly sodium, calcium and magnesium chlorides as well as iodides and iron; due to the iodine content, a distinctive therapeutic microclimate prevails in the pool hall.
