Zwierzyniec
Bukowa Góra is one of the most popular hills in Roztocze National Park, lying right next to Zwierzyniec. The area is under strict protection, so the stand of trees develops without human interference and some of the beeches and firs reach impressive sizes.
A marked nature trail leads to the top from Zwierzyniec or from the village of Sochy. It runs through beech woods and fir forest, passing undergrowth plant communities and good spots for watching woodland birds. The whole loop takes no more than three hours.
The route ends at a viewing platform on the edge of the hill, opening a view over Central Roztocze, the valley with the houses of Sochy and the characteristic chequerboard of fields. Benches stand by the platform. In the village there is a cemetery commemorating the 1943 pacification.
