Zmyślona Parzynowska, Wieś Kobyla Góra
Kobyla Góra is the culminating summit of the Ostrzeszów Hills in southern Wielkopolska, reaching 284 m above sea level. The hill is built of moraine sands and gravels left behind by the ice sheet, and its gentle, largely forested slopes descend towards the village of the same name in the Ostrzeszów district.
For well over a decade the summit has served as a place of pilgrimage. It holds the twenty-metre Wielkopolska Cross, raised as a votive offering for two thousand years of Christianity, and a bell dedicated to John Paul II that rings every afternoon and on Saturday evenings. A figure of Saint Joseph stands on the slope, and a gate named after the pope by the car park.
Three waymarked trails lead to the top. The shortest, the red one, starts in Marcinki, while the approach from Parzynów is only slightly longer; both take about an hour at an easy pace. A wooden shelter and benches await at the summit, also used during the annual celebrations. Pine forests laced with forest tracks stretch all around.
