Eastern Cycling Trail Green Velo

Green Velo is the longest marked cycling trail in Poland, about 2000 km long (the length of the main route is often given as about 1886-2080 km including connecting sections). It runs through five provinces of Eastern Poland: Warmian-Masurian (about 420 km), Podlaskie (about 592 km), Lublin (about 351 km), Subcarpathian (about 459 km) and Świętokrzyskie (about 190 km).

Location and surroundings

The trail begins in Elbląg and runs east along the Vistula Lagoon, through Warmia and Masuria, Podlasie, the Lublin region and Subcarpathia, all the way to the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, ending in Końskie. It passes, among others, through national and landscape parks.

What to see

The main towns on the route include Elbląg, Suwałki, Łomża, Białystok, Chełm, Przemyśl, Rzeszów, Sandomierz and Kielce.

Who it is for

A route of low to moderate difficulty, without long climbs, for cycle tourists of all levels.

The trail is uniformly marked (the Green Velo logo) and equipped with Cyclist Service Points (MOR).
