Wieś Rzyki
Groń Jana Pawła II rises to 890 m above sea level in the Little Beskids, next to Leskowiec and above the village of Rzyki. Until 2004 it was known as Jaworzyna. Two clearings – Beskid and Bargłowa – lie in the summit area and open up wide views.
On the Bargłowa clearing stands a chapel built in 1995 on the initiative of the PTTK activist Stefan Jakubowski; a steel cross had been erected beside it four years earlier. Inside, the armchair used by John Paul II has been preserved, and in 2007 a monument to the Pope was unveiled nearby. A few steps away is the PTTK Leskowiec hut from 1933.
Several marked trails lead to the summit. The shortest are the blue one from Tarnawa Górna (4.8 km, approx. 2 hours 10 minutes) and the blue one from Ponikiew (approx. 2 hours). From Rzyki Jagódki runs the Trail of White Hearts, designed for older and less mobile visitors.
