A terrace above the Świna backwaters

Wzgórze Zielonka rises to 81 m a.s.l. in Lubin near Wolin, within Woliński National Park. It is one of the best known viewpoints on the western coast, reached by a short walk from the centre of the village.

What you can see

The panorama covers the Świna backwaters with their landscape of 44 islands, the Szczecin Lagoon, Lake Wicko Wielkie and, in good weather, the Baltic Sea. The view from Zielonka was named Landscape of the Year 1993/94 by the Society of Friends of Nature.

Nature and surroundings

The hill was shaped by the retreating ice sheet more than ten thousand years ago. The Świna delta is a European bird sanctuary and one of the most important parts of the national park. Information boards on site explain how the islands were formed. The best light for watching comes early in the morning and before sunset.
