A tower above the Kaczawa Foothills

The observation tower on Mount Zawodna stands at 445 m above sea level in Lower Silesia, near the village of Gozdno in the Złotoryja district. The structure is over 20 metres high and was built in 2018, when a network of cycling routes was being developed in the surrounding municipalities.

The view and the approach

Climbing to the platform is easy and requires no mountain experience, and the walk up to the tower takes little time. From the top you can see the broad, rolling Kaczawa Foothills with their mosaic of forests, fields and isolated volcanic hills that give the area its characteristic rhythm.

Who it suits

A good destination for families and cyclists: around the hill some 13 kilometres of paths and cycling trails of varying difficulty have been laid out. The place works well as a short stop on a trip across the foothills, also for people just starting out with mountain excursions.
