VeloDunajec is one of the most popular and most frequently chosen cycling routes in Poland, part of the VeloMalopolska network. Its total length is about 229 km (given as 228.8 km).
The route begins in Zakopane and ends in Wietrzychowice, where the Dunajec flows into the Vistula. It passes through Podhale, the Nowy Targ Basin, the Pieniny, the Dunajec valley and the Sandomierz Basin.
The main towns on the route are Nowy Targ, Szczawnica, Stary Sącz, Nowy Sącz, Gródek nad Dunajcem and Tarnów.
A route with varied landscapes, for cyclists of all levels; it is not a loop and requires planning the return transport.
The surface is predominantly asphalt (about 80%), the remainder gravel; the route meets the VeloMalopolska standard.
The route is publicly accessible all year round; the best season is spring to autumn.
Accessible from Zakopane, Nowy Targ, Nowy Sącz and Tarnów, among others (rail and bus connections).
