Maków Podhalański
Makowska Góra rises to 580 m above sea level in the Maków Beskids, directly above Maków Podhalański in the Skawa valley. It is one of the most easily reached hills in this part of Lesser Poland: the top requires no equipment and no steep climbing, and for most of the way the route feels like a walk.
The path alternates between forest and open glades that reveal the surrounding Beskid ranges, including the Żywiec Beskids. Wayside shrines forming the Stations of the Cross stand along the route — the largest and most impressive one is in the Makowska Góra settlement, already close to the summit.
The gentle gradient and short distance make this a good destination for a family outing with children. The hill can also be reached by bicycle or by car. The simplest option starts from the market square in Maków Podhalański: along Kościelna Street, past the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Maków, and then on the road leading right up to the top.
