The second highest peak of the Żywiec Beskids

Pilsko (1557 m a.s.l.) belongs to the Pilsko Group in the Żywiec Beskids and is second in height only to Babia Góra. It towers over Korbielów, and its broad, flattened dome is covered with mountain meadows and patches of dwarf pine.

Panorama

The flat summit works as a natural viewing platform. From it you can see the Western Beskids, the Tatras and the ranges on the Slovak side, and when the air is exceptionally clear even the peaks of the Sudetes. Conditions on the ridge can be harsh even in summer.

Trails and the hut

At the foot of the dome, on Hala Miziowa (about 1270 m a.s.l.), stand a PTTK mountain hut and a trail junction. Several routes lead to the top — the green one from Sopotnia Wielka (7.6 km) and the yellow one from Korbielów via Hala Miziowa (6.8 km); both take close to four hours one way.

  • PTTK mountain hut with food service on Hala Miziowa
  • Junction of marked hiking trails
  • Cable car and car parks in Korbielów
Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 6 hours Seasonality: All year round; winter experience and equipment required
