Wieś Brzegi Górne
Krzemieniec (1221 m above sea level) lies on the watershed ridge of the Western Bieszczady, south of the village of Brzegi Górne. It is regarded as the highest point of the Bukowskie Mountains and one of the higher summits of the whole Bieszczady range. Its top is wooded, flat and elongated, with several culminations.
The western part of the massif is the only place in Poland where the borders of three countries meet: Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. The spot is marked by a granite obelisk and numbered border posts. The boundaries of the Bieszczady National Park, the Uzh National Park and the Slovak „Poloniny” park also converge here.
The peak is also known as Kremenaros, a reminder of the times when the Hungarian border reached this far. The most popular approach is the blue trail from Ustrzyki Górne: about 7.7 km one way and roughly three and a half hours of walking. It is worth planning a full day for the trip.
