The official name of the route is "Around Lake Czorsztyn", while among cyclists the term Velo Czorsztyn has caught on. The route was created in 2019 and runs around one of the most picturesque reservoirs on the Dunajec.
The trail surrounds Lake Czorsztyn in the Pieniny (Lesser Poland Province). The main section between Niedzica and Czorsztyn is about 27 km long; the full loop around the lake is given as about 38.5-44 km, with the option of shorter variants and a ferry crossing.
Along the route are, among others, the dam in Niedzica, the castles in Niedzica and Czorsztyn, and panoramas of the Pieniny and the Tatras.
The route is mostly flat, with an asphalt surface, suitable for families and cyclists of all levels.
The route runs along traffic-free cycle paths or internal roads, close to the lakeshore.
The route is accessible all year round; the ferry crossing and some attractions operate seasonally (spring to autumn).
Access by car to Niedzica or Czorsztyn; car parks by the dam and the castles.
