A hill on the edge of the Stołowe Mountains

Szczytnik is a sandstone hill 589 m above sea level, lying on the south-eastern edge of the Stołowe Mountains, right above the town of Szczytna in the Kłodzko Valley. A viewing terrace has been built on its top, reached by a specially laid out and waymarked path.

A panorama from the cliff edge

From the platform you can see the panorama of Szczytna, the Kłodzko Valley and the ranges around it: the Bystrzyckie Mountains, the Orlickie Mountains and the Duszniki Depression. The terrace sits literally on the edge of a rocky precipice, which is impressive but may make stepping to the very brink difficult for those afraid of heights.

Getting there

A yellow walking trail leads from Szczytna to the top; it is 1.7 km long, takes about forty minutes and is not demanding. You can also drive almost all the way up and leave the car in the parking area on Zamkowa Street, covering the remaining 600 metres on the yellow trail.
