Stożek Mały, Wisła
Stożek Mały is a barely pronounced elevation in the Silesian Beskids, on the main ridge of the Stożek and Czantoria range above the town of Wisła. The summit is forested, so views open up mainly from clearings and cuttings along the way. The Polish-Czech border runs along the ridge, and a well-used section of the Main Beskid Trail named after Kazimierz Sosnowski, marked in red, crosses the peak.
A quarter of an hour further on, on neighbouring Stożek Wielki, stands a historic mountain hut of the Polish Tourist Society, one of the oldest in the Polish Beskids and a natural target for a full-day walk. The route passes through beech and spruce forest, and the clearings offer views of the Wisła valley and the Barania Góra massif. The area is densely waymarked and popular also in winter, when the trails can be covered with snow.
The most convenient ascent starts in Wisła Dziechcinka and follows the blue or yellow trail, taking about two hours. The climb is steady, with no exposed sections, so the route suits a family outing with older children.
