Żelazny Szlak Rowerowy

The Żelazny Szlak Rowerowy (Iron Cycling Trail) is a cross-border (Polish-Czech) cycling route running along old railway embankments (former railway lines no. 159 and 170). The total length is given as about 43.1 km (25.5 km on the Polish side and 17.6 km on the Czech side); including approaches and variants, the loop is sometimes given as about 54 km.

Location and surroundings

The trail links, among others, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Godów and Zebrzydowice on the Polish side, and Karviná and Petrovice on the Czech side.

What to see

Along the route are, among others, the viaduct over the Ranoszka River and local monuments of the borderland.

Who it is for

A gentle route running along railway embankments, suitable for families and less advanced cyclists.

There are 5 rest areas along the route, including a covered one in Jastrzębie-Zdrój (the Szotkowice district).
